We aim to provide loving and permanent homes for Dachshunds whose owners, for whatever reason, can no longer keep them.
Rehoming
If for whatever reason you’re unable to keep your Dachshund, we will help you find a new, loving, and permanent home for your beloved pet.
We know and understand that rehoming a dog is a difficult decision for anybody to make.
We successfully rehome hundreds of dachshunds every year.
Our experienced team of coordinators will work with you to find the perfect new home for your dog.
We prefer your dog to go from his existing home to a new forever home and this is what we’ll aim to do.
If there’s a need to act quickly, we can put your dog into the care of one of our temporary fosterers or at our HQ facility, while we identify their new adoptive home.
Once adopted, your dog will remain under the wing of Dachshund Rescue UK for the rest of his life.
If you are unsure and just want to talk it over that’s ok, rest assured we will never be critical of your reasons.

Emergency Fostering
If you suddenly find the need to rehome your dachshund, temporarily or permanently, we can help.
We know and understand that handing a dog over to a rescue service is a difficult decision for anybody to make.
We successfully rehome hundreds of dachshunds every year.
Our experienced team of fosterers and coordinators will work with you to find the perfect new home for your dog.
We provide two types of Fostering.
Fostering Prior to Rehoming
Our team of Emergency Fosterers allows us to rehome a dog quickly, if necessary, we can put them into foster care until their new forever home is found.
Temporary Foster in Times of Need
Sometimes it’s not the dachshund who finds himself in crisis, it’s the owner. This could be due to ill-health or any number of other reasons. We are happy to place your dachshund temporarily with one of our foster carers for a limited time.
Whether it’s for a brief time while you sort things out, or a permanent new home, we can help.
If you are unsure and just want to talk it over that’s ok, we’re not here to judge.
